Keeping hunger at bay with 6 meals a day…
Everyone knows how important breakfast is, but a lot of people don’t know the importance of eating small meals through out the day. Eating “mini” meals through out the day not only helps one get though the day without gnawing their arm off, but also helps balance blood sugar and helps boost energy. Eating every 2 to 3 hours also helps burn more calories because each time one eats, the body has to work to break down the food and use it as fuel. That is, if they are consuming the right foods.

I work out all the time but can’t seem to lose weight…
Working out five days a week will not make a person lose weight. One needs to keep a food journal and cut the calorie intake down to 1500-2000 calories each day in order to see and sustain the weight loss. In order to do this, one must eat the right portions of high fiber, high protein, and low carbohydrates.

Eat More, Lose Weight
People that eat 6 to 8 times a day tend to have increased metabolism, resulting in more weight loss. Eating every 3 to 3 ½ hour’s aides in speeding up metabolism. At each meal one should have fiber and protein to help with cravings and hunger. As one changes their diet they will start to lose the weight. One Meal a Day Equals Weight Gain
Everyday people misconstrue the concept that eating one meal a day is actually better for them. This statement could not be more far from the truth. Skinny People Just Don’t Understand…
This blog article first appeared in http://watchmybuttshrinking.com/2009/05/skinny-people-just-dont-understand.html and is originally authored by Jennifer Colgan

I’m talking about people who were born skinny. You know the ones: “Oh, I can eat whatever I want – I can’t seem to keep the weight on.” The ones you watch walk away after that statement and fight back the urge to break their skinny little legs. Okay, most of them are very nice people, but they just don’t get the whole fat thing.
I have skinny friends who eat like birds and then say to me, “You don’t need to lose weight.” Come on!! I may be fat but I’m not stupid. I know they don’t want to say, “Hey looking’ round today!” but you don’t have to lie – just say something like, “You have nice eyes” or “How ’bout those Yankees?”

I gave in, but I’m NOT giving up!!!
We hear it ALL THE TIME!!!
“For some reason I’ve been giving in to temptations lately, specifically fast food. It is annoying and depressing me! I don’t know why…
I gave in, but I’m NOT giving up!!!
Two times in the past 3 days I’ve eaten a full fast food meal, including soda. It’s not even that good! Well, okay – the fries are actually pretty tasty, but still – I know better. And this is after I’ve been doing so well.
I just need to figure out why I’m doing this. I’m having trouble coming up with a reason. Read the rest of this entry »
Sleep More, Weigh Less over the Long Term
This article was originally posted at http://www.theinsomniablog.com/the_insomnia_blog/2011/08/sleep-more-weigh-less-over-the-long-term.html
The link between sleep and weight loss recently received a big boost: a long-term, large-scale study has confirmed that both too little sleep and too much sleep lead to weight gain.
Researchers at Harvard University examined how various lifestyle habits affected weight over an extended period of time. The study included more than 120,000 participants, both men and women, all of whom began in basic good health: none were suffering from any chronic diseases, and none were obese. Researchers monitored their weight in 4-year intervals over a total period of 20 years.
