Obesity Statistics
Obesity is determined as someone who has a BMI of 30 or more. Recent statistics by the CDC revealed that in 2009 over 27.3% of Georgia’s population was obese. For people with a BMI of 34 or more, a fat belly is regarded as an additional health risk. This is usually associated with excess fatty tissue causing pressure on the internal organs.
