Skinny People Just Don’t Understand…
This blog article first appeared in http://watchmybuttshrinking.com/2009/05/skinny-people-just-dont-understand.html and is originally authored by Jennifer Colgan

You know the ones: “Oh, I can eat whatever I want – I can’t seem to keep the weight on.” The ones you watch walk away after that statement and fight back the urge to break their skinny little legs. Okay, most of them are very nice people, but they just don’t get the whole fat thing.
I have skinny friends who eat like birds and then say to me, “You don’t need to lose weight.” Come on!! I may be fat but I’m not stupid. I know they don’t want to say, “Hey looking’ round today!” but you don’t have to lie – just say something like, “You have nice eyes” or “How ’bout those Yankees?”

This article was originally posted at http://www.theinsomniablog.com/the_insomnia_blog/2011/08/sleep-more-weigh-less-over-the-long-term.html
The link between sleep and weight loss recently received a big boost: a long-term, large-scale study has confirmed that both too little sleep and too much sleep lead to weight gain.
Researchers at Harvard University examined how various lifestyle habits affected weight over an extended period of time. The study included more than 120,000 participants, both men and women, all of whom began in basic good health: none were suffering from any chronic diseases, and none were obese. Researchers monitored their weight in 4-year intervals over a total period of 20 years.

Overcoming Plateaus
You can overcome temporary stalls and setbacks to achieve your weight loss goal.
Don’t be discouraged if at some point during the weight loss phase you experience what is commonly called a weight loss “plateau”.
